About me

I have a bachelor's degree in informatics at the Czech Technical University in Prague and Master's degree in Statistics at the University of Economics in Prague. I currently live in Prague.

My bridge story

It all started at the age of ten when my grandfather took me for a lesson. At that time, hanball was my number one sport, but it all changed at the age of 15. I started to play more seriously with my grandfather, found a junior partner, and in 2001, I participated at my first Championship (World Junior Pairs) and bridge camp in Poland. After that, I have participated at all junior and University Championships till I retired from the youth category (26) :-)

My professional career started after winning the 1st World Youth Congress in Istanbul in 2009. I played with Michal Kopecky as my partner and a Japanese pair as teamates. It was the first gold medal from the team competition for both countries. We were then invited to play in Yokohama where we met Brian Senior from UK. The next year, we played with him and his partner Sandra Penfold at the Nationals in New Orleans. My partner and I played another two Nationals in Jay Whipple team and spent 2 months in the U.S. after Nationals in Toronto. We have since played in Australia, Israel, Turkey, China and all across Europe.

In 2012, Michal decided to quit the professional bridge career and I was left without a partner. I finished my Master's degree while working at McKinsey & Company and started working on the rebirth of the Czech Bridge Federation, which was going through a crisis. I was elected President of the Czech Bridge Federation in January 2012.

In 2014, I resigned from my corporate job to dedicate my time to the development and future success of Czech bridge and of individual students and clients around the world.

I am also a member of the EBL Youth Committee and dedicate my spare time to setting up corporate seminars and academic youth programs in which I hope will inspire the next generation and insure the continued success of bridge clubs and tournaments in the Czech Republic.

My bridge dream and goal is to qualify to the Bermuda Bowl and win it :-)
